Who Is Semire?

My name is Semire [Shay-mee-ray] and I'm Product Designer with an ergonomics background.

 

"Ergonomics refers to the overall process of arranging a workplace, systems, and equipment in a way that makes it easy for people to use them." As an ergonomics advocate, making life easier and better for the end user is always my top priority.

 

In the ergonomics field we have a saying that goes 'Fit the job to the worker, not the worker to the job'. This saying is essentially highlighting the responsibility of the ergonomist to consider the end-user at all times and find a solution that meets their specific needs rather than trying to make them adapt to unsuitable job demands.  I apply this same rationale in my design process when considering how to tailor digital experiences to the end user, in order to make life easier and enjoyable.
